Celebration on the Waterfront
In honor of Independence Day, the City and County of San Francisco and its sponsors are hosting the annual Fourth of July Fireworks on the Waterfront on Tuesday, July 4th. Spectacular fireworks will be displayed in the Fisherman?s Wharf area starting at approximately 9:30 p.m. ? Public viewing of the free fireworks display can best be seen from the Municipal Pier near Aquatic Park and between Pier 45 and PIER 39 in Fisherman's Wharf.
Entertainment will be continuous throughout the day, from 1:30 p.m. until the fireworks begin, with festivities at Aquatic Park, PIER 39, The Anchorage, The Cannery, and Ghirardelli Square. Lunch and dinner cruises also are available on Blue & Gold Fleet, Hornblower Cruises & Events and Red & White Fleet. Special Info: As in years past, the Municipal Pier, located at the foot of Van Ness Avenue, will be closed to the public on the Fourth of July. The closure will be from 7 a.m. until midnight that evening. Boats will not be allowed to enter into Aquatic Park lagoon between 1:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on July 4. Public transportation is strongly recommended.

The public is encouraged to take advantage of the extended public transportation services to enjoy Fisherman?s Wharf and the City?s fireworks display over the Bay. Starting early afternoon on July 4th, police and traffic officers will be stationed at intersections in the area to assist with vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow.
